Does Pinched Nerve Cause Back Pain Radiating To Leg And Hip?

I was diagnosed with a compressed disc in my back about two years ago and have been doing fine. But the other day I started getting lower back pain again radiating pain down my leg and my hip is bothering me and when I sit I sometimes get a muscle spasm or kinda of a numbness in my side. Is that normal with a pinched nerve?

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you were diagnosed with a compression disc in back 2 years ago and has been doing fine. But now you started lower backache with radiation .You may be having acute attach of disc prolapse. It can be confirmed by MRI scan.Treatment is rest in position of relief(generally lateral position with both knee and hip bend), neurotopics such as mecobalamin and analgesics (Diclofenac). You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care
