Hi Mam, I have a daughter of just 7 months and it was a Cesarean . unfortunately i have conceived now and have to avoid it. I have taken scanning and came to now that 5.3 weeks old. Doctor advised me to have 200 mg of mifepristone orally and after two days 1 tablet of 200mcg Misoprostol insertion in Vagina and one more 200mcg after 6 hours. Is it help to abort.

Hallow Dear,

Mifepristone 200 mg followed by Misoprostol 400 micrograms (for pregnancy up to 7 weeks) and 800 mcgms (for pregnancy up to 9 weeks) 24-48 hours after that is a very effective and successful method for termination of pregnancy. However, if it fails, I would not advise you to change the decision and continue pregnancy as there are chances of malformation in the baby. Hence, in case of failure, please get the pregnancy terminated by surgical evacuation from an Obstetrician.

Hope this helps,

Dr. Nishikant Shrotri
