Does Low Iron In Blood Cause Complexion To Become Lighter?

Hi doctors a little bit of my self is that I am 21 years old and have more of a medium brown/dark complexion but lately My skin mostly my face has been getting lighter for an unknown reason.I have never used a whiter/bleach on my skin. I also have a low count of 9.7/13 on my iron blood count when I tried to donate..my hands and feet have been really cold as well... How can I go back to my original completion? And also is the low iron connected to loss in color? Thank you

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The complexion is un-associated with blood iron levels.
However, low iron levels leads to anemia or low hemoglobin.
Anemia can result in paleness of skin.
Excessive iron in body can lead to deposition of excessive iron in skin and other body organs.
The accumulation of iron in skin leads to darkened skin or pigmentation.
Correction of iron levels is required.
You need to take iron supplements to correct iron deficiency after consulting your doctor.
The change of complexion may be due to paleness observed due to anemia.

Thanks and take care
