Does Loss Of Plug With Cramp And Yellow Thick Leakage Signify Labor In 38 Weeks Pregnancy?

I am 38 weeks pregnant. Four days ago I lost my plug, it was a lot of leakage and went on for three days before stopping. It looked thick and like snot and yellow in color. When my plug came out I started getting bad cramps, like period cramps. They would be worse at night and happen every twenty minutes but during the day I would only get a couple cramps every couple of hours. Four days after the plug I'm still having the cramps and the yellow thick leakage but now i'm having bad cramps in my butt and lower back that are really painful. The baby is still moving just as much as normal. The pains get so bad I am not able to walk and I felt so weak and tired for the past couple of weeks. Am I in labor or experiencing a false labor? Is this normal or should I go to the hospital?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
During pregnancy vaginal discharge increases.
But if you are having continuous flow, better to rule out the possibility of premature rupture of membranes.
In that case liquor will come out as watery discharge.
At the time of onset of labor, cervical mucus mixed with little bit of blood will come out, which is called as show.
False labor pains are common in term pregnancy.
But to be on safe side, better to consult gynecologist once and get examined.
If she recommends go for ultrasound once to check the liquor status and wellbeing of the baby.
Take care.
