Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had SI back pain from an old (cracked sacrum ) injury with pain radiating down my leg for 6 weeks. I have had PT with seemingly no relief. Today I had a MRI with plans to inject the PI with cortisone. I took a lorazepam 1 mg as ordered 1 hour before the exam for claustrophobia. It has now been 9 hours since I had the lorazepam, and I have not had one ting of pain in the pack or leg. I have been using Tylenol ES 2 tabs every 4-6 hours of several weeks.
I have gone through your query. You have been given Lorazepam to decrease the fear of closed space as in case of MRI. Cortisone injected helps in decreasing your nerve pain. You may get pain as the action of cortisone reduces with time. Lorazepam is used as sedative and it does not subside pain.
