Breast milk, like milk in general, is rich in calcium. You have been breastfeeding your baby for 3 years now, if you are not taking calcium supplements, you will experience symptoms of calcium depletion like bone pain esp. in spine, hip and leg bones- femur, tibia, fibula. Its high time you wean your little one off the breast, do take dietary calcium like milk, also calcium tablets also. As for the IUD, do have a checkup by a gynaecologist to ascertain it is in proper position to be effective. A partially expelled or displaced IUD may give a false sense of security and not have proper contraceptive action.
