Does Intake Of Omnacortil And Claribid Cause Weight Gain?

Hi I am priya, I have been in medication for Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia and doctor has advised me to take Omnacortil 40 mg and Claribid 400mg for a week right now. So, My question is if i gained weight due to this medicine will i be able to reduce my weight after the course is completed?

Taking Claribid doesn't cause any weight gain. But Omnacortil (Prednisolone) is a corticosteroid and its usage for a prolonged time may lead to weight gain. Short term usage has not been associated with a weight gain.

If you gain weight with Omnacortil, it will get reduced easily once you stop taking the drug. It is not a permanent weight gain. It usually is a type of edema fluid accumulation in tissues and a little fat redistribution in body that looks like weight gain. With a little regular physical activity you get better very soon after you stop taking the drug.
