Does Intake Of Norethisterone Regulate Delayed Menstruation?

Hello....my period is 3 weeks late (follicle in ovary didnt break)....it has never happened before... last week the doctor prescribed me Norethisterone...2 pills - 5 days.... after last pill my period should start...until 7 days.....but now i found out that this pills are for postponement of period.....so im confused now.....how is it? it will cause the period? or it will postpone the period? ...thank you....

I understand your concern.
The medication what you have been prescribed is for both postponement of periods as well as induction of periods when it is delayed.
After taking it for the prescribed duration, the periods should start as breakthrough bleeding in about a week to ten days time.
In case there is further delay, you need to be examined and investigated for the cause and then treated accordingly. Kindly consult your doctor if such a thing happens.
