Does Hyzar Cause Swelling In Legs And Water Blisters?
I have edema in my legs and my legs and feet stay swollen 24/7. My feet feel like they are going to explode.I am on a dieritic in my bp pill and also take lasix and nothing works even proping legs up. my Bp med. is hyzar and i read that it can cause swelling is that true? Also have water blisters on my lower legs.
Hyzar is an anti-hypertensive drug consisting of: - Losartan - Hydrochlorothiazide
The long-term use of Hyzar is rarely associated with swelling in the legs. This side effect is related to alteration of kidney function. However, this is rarely reported.
At this point, what concerns me is your kidney function; you need to run further tests to evaluate its function: - urine analysis - urine culture - abdominal ultrasound
Depending on the tests results, specific treatment will be prescribed that will also work on your leg swelling.
Having water blister on your lower legs might be a sign of fungal infection of skin. You can follow up with dermatologist for specific treatment.
I also suggest to measure your blood sugar levels to exclude diabetes.
Hope it helped! Dr.Albana
