Does Having Scarlet Fever During Pregnancy Harm Mom And Baby?

Hi, i was just wondering what the dangers are if you are exposed to scarlet fever during the third trimester of your pregnancy, as my son has been confirmed as having the virus/infection and my friend whom is 33 weeks pregnant has been in constant contact with my family including my son. thank you.

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Though scarlet fever in pregnancy does not cause any harm to fetus it's advised to get antibiotics to completely treat it. because,
If one has the infection at delivery time, & the infection being carried to genitals due to unhygienic there is risk of transfer of infection to baby during birth. To avoid it,
- follow strict hygiene
- antibiotics according to doctor's advise to cure/avoid infection to baby at birth.
Thanks
