Does Fading Of Outer Line Of The Eye Mean Cataract?
Hello. I have a very important question. I want to know if it's possible for someone my age to develop cataracts?. Yesterday i was looking in the mirror and i noticed a light fading of the outline of my right eye.
I wear glasses, left eye sees better by a distance of approximately 6 - 7 inches.
Now if you were to divide my eye with a perfect cross there would be four sections correct, Well the outline fading is from a 25% section with a 16% / 25% if i had to estimate, Now the is just the outline, I'm freaking out because i care for my vision. Will i go blind from that right eye?

It would have helped to know your age. However a light fading of the outline of the eye is called arcus senalis ( above 50 years of age) and arcus juvenalis ( if younger). It looks like a white circular lining to the colored part of the eye. It is common finding in adults but less often seen in the young. It is age related degeneration of the cornea and does not require any treatment.
