Does Elevated Blood Pressure Of 160/90 With Pulse Rate Of 126 Need Immediate Medical Attention?

I am a 51 year old female. I just developed high blood pressure (160/90), and tonight I have a pulse rate of 126 (resting). Is this something for which I need to make a trip to the emergency room? I have been on 10 mg of lisinopril for three weeks.

Hello,
It's not an emergency. Just keep watch on blood pressure, if it crosses 180 systolic then needs to visit hospital on urgently. You can add tab Amlodipine 5 mg once a day for control of bp. Also, have low salt diet and regular exercises. Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
