Does Dehydration Cause Dizziness And Nausea?

When I lie down or move my head sideways on the pillow I am very dizzy with the room swirling around. Then I become nauseated and often have to vomit. Can it be due to dehydration? If so how much water should a drink per day and when is best time to drink it? Phyllis Wilken

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your concern and dehidration can lead to dizzines and nausea. But your symptoms look like you may have problems with your vestibular system which regulates your balance. My suggestion is to visit your GP to make further examination. Until than drink at least 1.5-2 L fluids per day.

I hope this answer was helpful to you.
