Does Clogged Ears, Jaw Pains Are Signs Of Sinus Infection?

Hello

For a a few years now my ears (mostly the right one) get blocked. There's nothing I can do to unblock it exempt lie down or put my head between my legs which instantly unblocks it.

My jaw aches a little and I occasionally get a runny nose. I rub my jaw near the ear with muscle relaxing balm which at times gives me a little relief but doesn't fix the problem. I wondered if it was a sinus problem so took medication to clear the sinuses which did not help at all.

I just want to understand what the problem could be.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, your symptoms seem to be because of Eustachian tube dysfunction and sinusitis can be a cause of Eustachian tube dysfunction. Sinusitis leads to some post nasal drip and this may lead to cilliary dysfunction of the Eustachian tube (ET) lining and the resultant dysfunction. Jaw movements help in opening of the ET and its better functioning. Please consult an ENT and get your nose and PNS examination done and an Xray PNS will be required to evaluate the sinuses.
