HELP! My friend was standing on my abdomen yesterday to test my strength, but he accidentally put one foot on my chest and applied pressure. His sister immediately told him to get off because she said that it is dangerous to apply pressure to a person's chest. He is about 120 pounds. Ever since then, I have been feeling sharp pains in my chest, it has been sort of hard to breathe, and right now I am feeling a bit dizzy and my vision is slightly blurry. It was feeling better but just now out of nowhere it started hurting again because I was moving around too much tonight. I feel like I am in serious danger right now. Do you think I need to worry so bad? I am prone to anxiety attacks and for a while I thought I punctured my heart accidentally through maybe a splinter in the bone of my sternum. Do you think I need to worry that much? Please tell me your opinion. Would it be safe to fall asleep or should I wake my parents and rush to the emergency room. I am so worried. Help me. Please. Thank you. =]
No need to worry this much but yes, you should definately visit you doctor soon and get done chest x ray atleast. As blunt chest injury can cause pleuritic pain due to rib fracture or muscle pull or pulmonary contusion. Al these can be picked up by chest x ray. And treatment of all is take rest, avoid painfull movements and take good pain killers and muscle relaxant.
