Does Chest Discomforts Mean Heart Attack?

I have been experiencing minor chest discomfort for several days. I don t want to over react, but want to make sure this is not precursor to heart attack. If I were to go to an urgent care facility, what tests can be done to determine if I am about to have a heart attack? How quickly could I know?

Hi there,
Thanks for using HCM.
Not all chest discomforts are due to heart disease or heart attack.
Heart attack is just one of the causes of chest discomfort.
More common causes include acid reflux disease, musculoskeletal pain involving the rib cage and respiratory issues.
The simplest way to know whether you have a heart attack is to get an EKG done. The whole procedure can be completed in less than 5 minutes and the EKG can be read immediately.
You can get an EKG done in a healthcare facility or ER.
