Does Celebrex Cause Sadness And Depression?
I have been taking celebrex (400 gm) a day, for psoriatic arthritis.I have post polio and am in a wheel chair. I am also taking blood pressure medication, and it take Paxil and qietiapine for anxiety. I ve taken the celebrex for a couple of weeks. Can it be a side effect to feel sad or depressed. I ve been feeling like that for a few days now.

Celebrex contains drug called Celecoxib . Some of the Neuro psychiatric side effects listed are Dizziness , Anxiety , Headache , INsomnia , Anorexia , DEPRESSION , Fatigue , Nervousness , Vertigo , Anosmia ..
These side effects may or may not happen in every individual . Also it happens usually over long period of use .
So yes it might be due to the side effect of Celebrex . Ask your doctor to replace it with another medication.
