Does Breastfeeding Contract The Uterus?

Good evening. I am 6 weeks pregnant and for the last three days I have been spotting. I understand that this can be quite normal, but I am curious as to what point I should be concerned. ALSO, I am currently still breastfeeding my 1.5 yr old, could this be a contributing factor to the bleeding as I ve heard that breastfeeding contracts the uterus. Any advise is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,thanks for writing..
Spotting in and around the expected periods is implantation bleed and you neednot worry about it.. But if there is on going bleeding you need to get a scan done to see the well being of the fetus.. Brest feeding causes uterus to contract in the post delivery period not when you are pregnant.. I would advise to stop breast feeding as your nutrition will be insufficient to feed 3 and will affect the fetus.. Hope I have answered your query.. Good day..
