Does Blood Pressure Increases And Heart Beat Faster If Pill Is Missed?

i was put on a 2.5 bystolic blood pressure pill Jan 5, when my company wanted it below 90 on the bottom for me to drive. it was 140/108 at 1 pm. I have been under a good deal of stress due to a friend committing suicide. I was sitting last night typing an email and my heart went to beating faster than ever.....I had earlier in day been shopping, ate a steak and had a margarita. I drove back to my parents 45 miles...then had relaxed for about 1hr. I am 57. my blood pressure was 103/62 pulse 89 during the heart racing. My normal blood pressure is 127/78.....I haven't taken a blood pressure pill for 5 days.....Will this cause the problem.....it was scary feeling. I have not been on a blood pressure pill for over 15 years ago....which I only took 6 months. I do not smoke at all.

The blood pressures that you report most recently are not high. You should let your doctor know that you have stopped taking medication. The racing sensation is probably not related to medication.
Blood pressure recording should not be sporadic. Single measures are not very helpful. Decisions are best made from an average value from a two week span. Record your blood pressure on a schedule every day. When you meet with your doctor again, bring the record to help determine the need for medicine.
