Does Bleeding Stop After Misoprostol Is Inserted?

Hi Dr? i missed my periods and within eight days i took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. then i was advised to take mesoprostol. I inserted three tablets. cramps came and bleeding with a heavy clot happened but then bleeding has stopped by the end of day one after using mesoprostol. is it normal? what can i do? thank you.

Understand your concern
Always use medical abortion pills after the advice of gynecologist regarding dosage, route and time of administration. A home use is illegal and cause complication like excessive bleeding, incomplete abortion and abnormal development of baby in failure.
Bleeding after using pill suggests abortion process is started.
Bleeding after abortion depends on gestational age of pregnancy.
In early pregnancy abdominal cramp & passing of blood and tissue like clots like slight more than menstruation will be occur for 2-4 days.
So it is normal process,
But confirm the pregnancy by HPT 10 days after taking tablet.
So take proper rest, analgesic and healthy diet and also go for USG 14 days after taking tablet to confirm the complete process of abortion.
maintains pelvic hygiene and check for foul smells vaginal discharge to prevent infection
Use safer sex practice (I pill, condoms) and choose your contraception method to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
