Does Being On Hydrocodone For A Ruptured Disc After An Injury Cause Lasting Nerve Damage?

hello my DR put me on mobic and hydrocodone for a ruptured disc in my back its been 2 months since the injury and my insurance carrier for work comp has'nt authorised my surgery yetz can this cause lasting nerve damage to my legs and back ive already lost a noticeable amount of muscle in my right thigh and have numbness and shooting that go down the back of my thigh accross my knee and down the front of my shin. will I be able to get feeling back after the surgery or is the damage already done and im screwed

Hi,
As you are having PIVD with radiculopathy which should be managed as soon as possible .It Is hard to find how much damage done as you have not provided details and need clinical examination n investigation (which again not provided ).But as you said its not so late.
so take strict bed rest with application of Belt(according to level) . Strict avoidance of flexion at spine , along with methylcobalamine with hydrocodon n mobic with ppi until u undergo operative decompression .
