Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i wish to know if the taking of anastrozole with alcohol is dangerous or harmful,my partner who had a lumpectomy on her right breast and is a recovering alcoholic started drinking 6 days ago new years eve doesn t seem to be able to detox so much so her mother and I are worried that she needs professional help,we are really at our wits end at this stage
There is no drug interaction between alcohol and anastrozole. Alcohol does not affect the effectiveness of alcohol. But alcohol consumption is responsible for increasing the risk of fatty liver disease, hepatic fibrosis, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, certain cancers, raised blood pressure, stroke, peptic ulcer and congenital malformations. It also increases the risk of many family, work and social problems. I advise to refrain from consuming alcohol. If addiction is issue then take her to a de-addiction center where expert treatment will be given. I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thanks
