Does Accidental Chewing Of An AA Battery By A Child Require Medical Attention?
Yes, we found our four year old chewing on a AA battery. He didn t chew it in half , swallow any parrt or appear to break the outer casing. We saw no liquid suggesting that he broke through. I think it is not an charge to the ER situation but are there any warning signs we should be on the lookout for just in case?
From the accident you are describing, your child might have just got saved from an emergency. I do no see anything to worry about here.
However, if he develops symptoms of burn or discomfort, then you should head to emergency room without wasting any time. Otherwise you can just forget the incidence.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
