Does Abdominal Pain And Mucus In Stools Indicate Colon Cancer?
I have had mild abdominal pain on my left side for around 4 weeks. It is sort if mid-abdomen. I also occasionally feel it in my side. It is a sharp pain that comes and goes, but it is not severe. I have also noticed mucus with my bowel movements. It is noticable on the tissue paper when I wipe. I have not seen any noticeable blood, no fevers, no other major change in bowel movements. My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 47. I am 33. I have had a previous colonscopy when I was 23 and nothing major was found. I am now scheduled for a colonscopy, but not for another 6 weeks. I am terrified that I have colon cancer - to the point that I can't stop thinking and worrying about it. Six weeks seems like a very long time to wait. Should I be as concerned as I am?
