Does A Good Diet And Exercise Help With A Fatty Liver?

Q : Hi, I had recently test my ultrasound scan found early fatty changes in liver. Then I had a LFT(liver function test) That is Total billirubin 1.20, Conjugated billuribin 0.29, A.S.T.(SGOT) 56 A.L.T.(SGPT) 89 Alkaline phosphatase 159. In my Lipid profile shown that Cholesterol 227, triglycerides 290, HDL cholesterol 39, LDL cholesterol 130 VLDL 58. Doctor prescribed the medicine named as Hepexa M, Fibator EZ, VSL-3 Rabium dsr for 3 month,. i had already avoid alcohol, fatty foods and controlled a lot of my diet having exercise, after 2.5 month i lose 8 kg weight (81kg to 73kg), now my lipid profile is normal,may this type of case occures after heavy diet control and above medication use in 2.5 month, my age 33, height 5.6 inch

definitely, exercise and strict diet along with medication aids in weight reduction and improving the abnormal liver enzymes reading.
however, you need to monitor your liver enzymes and lipid profile every 6 months to 1 year.

secondly, visit your treating physician and take his advice for discontinuation of drugs and/or dose adjustment. Prevention is better than cure. So, try to maintain ideal weight to avoid complications of being overweight.
