Does A HCG Level Of 471 Indicate Pregnancy?
hello doctor,
my husbands sperm is not enough fertile to make successful fertilization, so I took fertility treatment. doctors put some injections to make my ovary system overactive so that it draws the sperm itself. after that I have been injected with the sperm of my husband into my ovary. after that as a process, I have been using gestone injection for a month...
my last period was 8 february n today is 17 th march.
--I didn't have my period till today..
--and in urine test by home pregnancy tester the result is negative
--but in blood test hcg level is 471 which is positive
--pls advise kindly if that means I m pregnant or not??
--and with that hcg level urine test should be positive but it is not.pls advise what can make it negative with this hcg level?
--also it is clear my period is delayed 9days than the normal cycle. is it only the side effect of gestone? and how many days gestone can delay the period than normal cycle??

Yes a HCG level of 471 in 4-5 week as in you indicate pregnancy in you. Which is the reason of your delayed period & gestone cannot be responsible for negative urine pregnancy test in you.
Sometimes the urine pregnancy test could be wrong ( known as false negative) & this occurs due to less amount of HCG hormone in urine, which is not detected by pregnancy strip. This possibility is higher in early pregnancy with low HCG hormone.
You are advised for a repeat test for beta HCG or blood levels of HCG as lower levels of HCG levels are more prone to undergo a miscarriage. Gestone intake should also be continued as prescribed by your doctor.
