Does Victoza Taken For Type II Diabetes Cause Thyroid Issues?
I have been taking victoza for my type II diabetes along with metformin 2 times a day for a month now. This month I got my period two times. I noticed on my brochure that it can cause thyroid issues. Could this be what caused my menstrual flow to come twice this month? Is this something to be concerned about?
Hi. Welcome.. First of all let me informed you that vitcoza is associated with thyroid cancer and pancreatitis in studies.., especially if u have previous thyroid issues. Secondly there are many other drugs available in market including insulin which can easily control diabetes. So ask your diabetologist better to shift to other drugs. Third is vitcoza is usually not associated with bleeding tendency.. So your irregular menstruation doesn't looks like due to vitcoza. So my advice to you is. 1.switch to other better options for diabetes management. As per your doctor will advice you. 2.consult a gygynecologist if you have persistent menstrual abnormalities. Thank u. Have a nice day.
