Does Ubicar Tablets Have Side Effects?

Dear Doctor, I have been prescribed UbiCar 1 BD. I had complained of drop in my weight from around 72 kg to 61 kg. I have also overall weakness in my body. I am 63 years old. The doctor has diagnosed my condition as Andropause and also the effect of Atorva 10 mg. I have been on statins (Atorva 10 mg) for the past 10 years. The doctor has prescribed temporary pause on statins for a month and review later after blood tests. He had prescribed 1 time injection of Testosteron depot. He has also prescribed a hematinic to go by in view of the weakness. Seek your expert views on any side effects of UbiCar or Testosteron inj. Thanks for your kind advice in advance. With kind regards...Tony

Hi
Thanks for your query.
I appreciate your concern for the safety of Ubicar tablets.

Ubicar tablet (Ubidecarenone + L-Carnitine) can produce the following
side effects like nausea, diarrhea or stomach upset.

Common side effects of Depo-Testosterone include nausea, vomiting, headache, anxiety, depression, skin color changes, increased sexual interest, oily skin, hair loss, breast swelling in males (gynecomastia), weight gain due to retention of salt and water.

The weight loss and the weakness are not the side effects of Atorvastatin.
The most common side effects of Atorvastatin are muscle pain, right uppper abdominal pain due to liver injury, etc.

Your treating doctor wanted to rule out the weakness suspected to be caused by Atorvastatin.

Continue to take the hematinics as prescribed by your doctor.
If there is no improvement in your condition you need to be investigated further.

Hope this answers your query.
