Does Terazosin Cause Slow Heart Rate?

Will terazosin lower your heart beats like only 30 to 40 beats per minute? Is it not good to have such a low blood pressure? I am told the pulse should be 60 to 100 beats per minute. Is slowing the heart down to much dangerous? Could it end up being a heart failure and possible death? I am 77 years old.

Hello.
Welcome.
Terazosin is an alpha adrenergic drug blockers. Terazosin relaxes your veins and arteries so that blood can more easily pass through them. It relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. The use of terazosin is significant on the dose, duration and symptom. It wont suddenly make your heart beat down to 30-40 beats per minutes, but it is essential for you to make sure you take the prescribed does only. IF EVER YOU FEEL YOUR DRUG IS CAUSING SOMETHING TO YOU IMMEDIATELY REPORT IT TO YOUR PRESCRIBING DOCTOR.
Yes, it neither good to have a low blood pressure(BP) or a high blood pressure. BP is a measure to tell you us (doctors) that the body is not functioning properly for which we have to take action and its maintenance is the most important thing.
Sir/Mam, heart failure and death are the worst and most common complication of every disease in the world, and so is Stress. Stress can lead any/all organ dysfunction, hence it is always prescribed to stay calm and happy.
In my opinion you should take rest and think happy, if you have symptoms that is making you feel uneasy, it is important for you to get it checked.
