Does Sudafed Cause Insomnia?

Hi I just took 2 sudafed tablets in stead of 1. Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 60mg. Taking them for bad sinusitis and without reading packet assumed dose was 2 but should have been 1. I haven’t had any others today. I was hoping to sleep now as is night- is it likely to keep me awake?

hi sir/mam,your observation is of course right that Sudafed causes trouble in sleeping.but side effects differ from individual to individual.its not mandatory that you are going to have insomnia.one most important thing to remember is when ever you intend to take a medicine,be sure of its dosage and route of administration.never take >1tablet at a time unless prescribed by an expert doctor.finally I would like to conclude that insomnia is a common side effect of Sudafed.sinusitis may need some antibiotic like amoxicillin with clavullanic acid 625mg twice daily for 5 days.steam inhalation clears congestion of nasal cavities and sinuses.hope i’m clear.any other queries, please write to us.its my pleasure to be of any help to you.wish you and your family a very happy new year 2018.thank you.take care.bye.
