Does Sertaline Increase The Effect Of The Metoroporol?

I am 40 years old, approx 5ft9 and about 210lb. My Dr had me taking HCTZ and lisinopril for high BP. I recently had panic/anxiety attacks and the Dr changed my meds to 10mg lisinopril + 25mg Metroporol as well as 75 mg of sertraline/day. She also gave me clonazapam as needed for the panic attacks. From what I have read, the sertaline could increase the effect of the metoroporol, is that correct? Also I periodically notice the veins in my hands, feet and calves seem more visible. Could this be due to the medications?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
You are right. Sertaline can increase the blood level and effect of Metoprolol as they both use the same liver enzyme CYP2D6 for metabolism.
These medicines are not likely to be the cause of swelling of the veins unless you have a Cardiac decompensation.
Take care
Dr Noble Zachariah
