Does Provera Work As An Emergency Contraceptive Pill?

hello,, i am irregular in my menstrual cycle, and we are using calendar method. my period is last july15,2016 but we have intercourse and put his sperm on me on july 30. is it possible that i will get pregnant because it is not yet 19 days of my cycle. can i use provera to prevent pregnancy?

Hi welcome to HCM....

You are having unprotected intercourse during high risk period that is around ovulation time according to history ....

For preventing pregnancy rather than medroxyprogesterone , Levonorgestrel 0.75 mg tablet taken as soon as possible preferably within 72 hour. ...After 12 hour repeat dose required ....

If 72 hour already passed than no role of using this drug ....

Natural method of contraception can be used only when cycle is very much regular of 28 to 30 days ..
It is better to use barrier method for preventing unwanted conception....
