Does Percocet Cause Hiccups?

My son was put on percocet Saturday at the er for a diverticulitis attack. He has had the hiccups since yesterday. Could this be a side effect from the pain meds? He stopped taking the percocet last night but still has the hiccups. Is this a cause for concern.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Percocet is having acetaminophen and oxycodone.
These drugs are not known to cause hiccups.
So I don't think your son's hiccups are due to percocet.
Dehydration is common cause for hiccups.
So give him plenty of fluids orally.
No need to worry for this hiccups as they will be mostly subside in 1-2 days.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
