Does PCOS Affect Pregnancy?

I have PCOS due to which I have periods every 2 and half months. I had consulted a gynaec last year for a regular checkup, everything was normal. Since last 3 days I am experiencing light spotting, I know it s not periods because I had my cycle just 2 weeks ago. What could be the possible reason? Also we are planning for a baby next year. What are the precautions I should take before planning? Will pcos affect my pregnancy?

Thanks for consulting. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

PCOS affects pregnancy as the periods are not regular and also due to infrequent release of egg from the ovary. but there is nothing to worry if you are going for a planned pregnancy.
consult a gynecologist she will prescribe you with tablets that will induce ovulation.

you also need to take some vitamin testable for the baby several months before when your are planning for the baby.

Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
