Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I understand your concerns but don't worry. The most likely reason for dry cough and fever in this age group is a self limiting viral infection or bacterial tonsillopharyngitis. Monocef o cv is an antibiotic which covers a broad range of bacterial infections which may be responsible for the symptoms. I would recommend you to give acetaminophen for fever spikes along with antihistamine such as Chlorpheniramine for dry cough.

Hopefully your child will improve in next 2-3 days. In case he develops worsening of symptoms, breathing problems or any other symptoms then do visit a pediatrician for re examination and evaluation.

Take care
