Does Mercilon Cause Intermittent Brown Discharge?

hi i changed birth control pills, i was using mycrogen but changed because of bad mood swings and constand period-pains. I just started using mercilon a month ago, i had brown discharge for about 2 weeks then it stopped but now its started again! (my pill break is supposed to start in two days) is it normal and when will it stop?

Hello and thank you for your question. This type of birth control pill can cause some breakthrough bleeding which is what you are experiencing. Usually after you have been on the pill for three months this clears up and your periods become regular. If it does not then you may need to see your doctor for a different type of pill. I hope this clears up soon.
