Does Lisinopril Cause Vertigo?

My fiance is experiencing a spinning sensation, which has been going on for about 5 hours now. He says it s very much like having had too much to drink. He does have a prescription for lisinopril/hctz 25 mg/day that he was unavailable to him for a week. He had his first dose this morning after that break. Would that possibly cause symptoms like this?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Lisinopril is an angiotensin converting enzyme, which is used to treat high blood pressure or congestive heart failure.
Commonly reported side effects with use of lisinopril include headache, dizziness, hypotension, hyperkalemia, increased blood urea nitrogen and increased serum creatinine.
Hence, your guess could be right of what your partner is experiencing, due to side effects of the drug.
Kindly consult your Physician at the earliest so that the symptoms can be evaluated and an alternate medication could be prescribed in its place.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
