Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on lamictal for 6 yrs. & it has affected my memory. Is that common & will it be temp or permanent. also, I am taking 100 mg 2 times a day & also keppra 500 mg 2 times a day. Is that normal dosage. Thanks for any advice you can give me. I have temp seizures that last only couple of minutes. lmk
First of all the dosage for both medications are normal. Lamictal can rarely cause memory loss though i would not suggest stopping the treatment as it might increase the seizures. Suggest seeing your specialist to discuss maybe changing lamictal to another anti-seizure treatment if the memory loss is affecting you so much,
Kind Regards
