Does IBS Indicate Stomach Cancer?

Hi I have had abdominal pain for 3-4 months now. The pain comes and goes and every time I push my belly in I can hear a squelching sound. I have been for a ultrasound on my abdominal area but the hospital didn't find anything. When I went to see the consultant I was told I may have IBS, but I have been paranoid that I may have stomach cancer. What are the chances of this? I am 20 by the way.

Hello,
I can understand your worry towards detection of stomach cancer.
But there is no any association between IBS and stomach cancer at all.
IBS is physiologic disease of small intestine in which digestion would be inadequate due to insufficient intestinal digestive enzymes.
Stomach cancer never produce symptoms which you were experiencing. Most common symptoms of stomach cancer is early satiety, difficulty in swallowing (sometimes), vomiting after taking food.

Hope I have answered your question thoroughly.
Have a good day!
