Does Femodene Cause Tiredness And Appetite Loss?

Hi there,

I've been taking citalopram for a few years now with no side effects. about 2 weeks ago I started taking femodene contraceptive pill. Since then Ive been tired constantly and have loss of appetite until I get so hungry that I feel physically sick. Could there be a connection with the Femodene and the tiredness?

Since you were taking CITALOPRAM ( an anti depressant ) for many years , now just started femodene ( ethinylestradiol =gestodene ) an oral contraceptive .
After this lost appetite and feeling tiredness.
Your oral contraceptive pill may reduce the clearance of citalopram i.e. accumulation and this is the main reason that you are feeling such symptoms .
Either take some appetizer , so it will boost your appetite within a short period or consult your gyne to change the oral contraceptive pill .
3rd option is wait for next couple of days as these both drugs will adjust in your body.
if you can tolerate then well and good , if unbearable consult your doctor and get his consultation .

However tiredness is not a big problem as it will adjust within a short period with these both drugs.
