Does Crestor Cause Soreness And Stiffness In Shoulder/bicep?

I ve been taking 40mg of crestor for about 2 months now and just recently I have developed a very sore and stiff right shoulder and bicep---my cardiologist told me to cut the dosage to 20mg and I am wondering if maybe I should just quit taking it altogether until my muscles heal---I have read that side effects can be what I am experiencing

Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
Statin like crestor is known to produce muscular inflammation , pain and tenderness.
You can cofirm it by an elevated CPK in the blood.
You should follow your doctor's advice of reducing the dose of Crestor. If the pain persists, you should stop it. There can be a serious side effect rhabdomyolysis which can be deleterious to your health.
