Does Clonazepam Have Side Effects?

I have had CFS since 1989 and take 1mg of clonazepam....It helps me to get to sleep. Without it I have jerking and uncontrolled movement. Lately I have had a reaction to this medication. Could it be the fillers or dyes? I ve heard our meds. are now coming from China. Thanks! Terry

Hi Terry,
It is very difficult to tell whether it is the fillers or dyes (excipients) or the active ingredient (clonazepam) that is causing the reaction. And drug reactions can occur at any period of time.
There is no mention of severity of the reaction; if it was a mild one then different brand of clonazepam can be tried if available. If it was a moderate/severe reaction, then I would suggest alternative medications for your CFS.
Hope this helps. Thanks.
