Does Clexane Prevent Stillbirth?
Does Clexaine prevent still birth. I have had a positive result with my IVF treatment, I am now on week 31, and my clinic is considering taking me off Clexaine (i also have gestational diabetes), i am very worried that coming of clexaine may cause clotting and result in still birth? My age is 39, I am of asian origin, i am 5ft1.

Could you please tell me why Clexane was started for you.
Do you have the APLA syndrome or any thrombophilias?
Clexane prevents clots in maternal veins ,as these could lead to Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism.
It is also used in women who have increased chances of blood clot formation like obese women ,past history of embolism.You should continue clexane till delivery and also consider taking it post partum as you have some minor risk factors like age 39 years,IVF pregnancy also you have not mentioned your weight ,if your BMI is high you are more likely to have embolism.
Do stop the clexane on day of delivery and inform your treating doctor about you taking it.
Stopping clexane will not cause still birth.But do not stop it ,as it will prevent you from getting pulmanory embolism.
