Does Botox Treatments Cause Sharp Pain In Shoulders?

I have recently been diagnosed with cervical dystonia. I have had botox treatments with the last shot on Jan 7th. Now I am experiencing sharp burning sensations on my left shoulder that radiates outover the whole shoulder and on the top of the shoulder. I went in for a checkup with my doctor over the botox treatment and mentioned the burning in my shoulder and he said the botox was working and the muscles in my shoulder were doing more work compensating for my relaxed muscles in my neck. He gave me shots in the muscles containing lidicane (mis spelled) and saline. It has not helped. Now what?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the shoulders that you have could be due to cervical dystonia or as a side effect of Botox injection or due to an independent shoulder pathology. Direct examination is necessary for diagnosis.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
