there are several types of streptococci, in that group A infection are more common and serious.
Group C are a group of bacteria, comprising several species, the main human pathogen being Streptococcus dysgalactiae subsp. equisimilis. These streptococci are most commonly identified by the presence of a Lancefield group C antigen on the surface of the bacterium, which is easily detected in the laboratory.
The main clinical manifestations of Group c are primarily throat, ear or eye infections. Rarely they may cause meningitis, septicaemia (blood poisoning), endocarditis.
treatment for your infection is taking pencillin, or erythromycin.
