Does Benadryl Help To Treat Swollen Esophagus?

I am currently suffering from a swollen esophagus. I have a condition in which barometric changes or not chewing my food thoroughly causes blockage, pain so bad, I have to vomit to relieve pain and pressure. I believe I have done this to myself. I would like to decrease the swelling. I can eat cream of wheat, and drink but still feel swelling. I haven t had a real meal and am hungry. Does Benadryl help with the swelling so I can eat. Obviously I would use the liquid at this time.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of pain in esophagus that you may have to vomit. Pain is severe. You have not mentioned whether any investigations are done or not.
I would advise you the following:
Consult a Gastroenterologist.
Upper GI Endoscopy.
CT or MRI of the chest and upper abdomen.
Tests of blood urine and stool.
Barium swallow under fluoroscopy control.
All these help to get a correct diagnosis and a plan for management.
Benedryl may not help.
