Does Amphetamine Salt Affect An EKG Report?

Could the amphetamine salt that i take cause an abnormal EKG? I have never had heart problems and I m going in to have a revision surgery next week. I had an EKG done today and they are saying it is abnormal like I have had a heart attack in the past but I have never had any symptoms. So I am wondering if the amphetamine salt medicine that I take daily could have an effect on the results?

In theory amphetamines are a risk for heart attack, but most people who are on them (by prescription anyway) are at incredibly LOW RISK for any heart trouble. On the other hand, ekg's that look like a prervious heart attack but are incorrect are far more common--probably at least 5% of people. A more detailed look at the EKG discloses that it is not really a problem in about half of thosew ith abnormal EKG's
