Do Spotting When On Birth Control Pill Indicate Infection?

My daughter has been taking Yasmin birth control for about one month and is going into her second month to prevent her period temporarily (special water event coming up). She was spotting brown last week and today it is bright red. Does Yasmin cause that or could it be an infection? She s taken it years ago with no breakthru bleeding. Why is this happening now? I told her to call her doctor.

I really appreciate your concern, with the hormone medicine such irregular menses of discharge is likely and this would be alright once the medicine's effect overs, better to avoid this medicine if being taken for no good reasons, hope this helps, take care and have a nice day.
