Do Pacemakers Prevent Presyncope?

Hello I am a 24 year old female who has had presyncope episodes for 12 years. During the 12 years I have undergone many tests. I had a positive tilt table test in 2006 where my blood pressure dropped to 69/32 and the tilt showed neurocardiogenic syncope with a cardioinhibitory component. I was placed on florinef 4 years ago and after 3 days of taking the medication I had a TIA. Would pacemaker placement be an appropriate option for treatment?

Hi,

Usually pacemakers are effective in cases when the main cause of syncope is heart rate drop. In case it caused mainly from blood pressure drop, then pacemaker will not be enough effective.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health
