Do I Need To See A Doctor As I Am Having Productive Cough?

I have a productive cough, sounds of rolling mucus in my chest when I breath out, but no sore throat. My nose isn't too stuffy in that I can still breath out of it. A light headache, mild fever of 100.7, and aches. What is this? Do I need to see a doctor?

Hi

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding productive cough wit mild fever and body ache.

Your above symptoms are indicative of respiratory tract infection involving the lower respiratory tract only therefore you have only productive cough with mild fever and no soreness in throat. These respiratory infections are usually viral but at times bacterial also.

Since there is involvement of your lung tissue so it will be advisable to consult a doctor for thorough examination, relevent investigations and treatment and to avoid complications like pneumonia.

Regards.
